I am considering one of these services as an alternative to cable. I have read the advertising but because I am cynical by nature I would like to hear from visitors about these two companies. I have read their advertising and know what is available.

What I don’t know is the real side from those that are using the service of Direct TV or Dish Network and the experiences of customers that have needed customer service. No business is going to say their customer service is less than wonderful because it couldn’t sell their product. Therefore the customers have the opinions that I would like to know and at the same time, share with visitors.

I wouldn’t be quite as interested if getting service from either one didn’t involve a two year contract. This is a long time to get locked in and need to pay for a service if it isn’t as advertised.

This type of service can have problems and I wish to know how well they handle them. I do know both are reputable companies, but I also know that there are differences in opinions. I want opinions of people using the service, not selling it.

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Hi. Found you from the Cucolds site. We have had both. With Dish we lost it with every rain. Not happy. With Directv we rarely lose signal, very rarely in a downpour only. More channels and better programing too. I had one prob when we first got it. Had only been abt three days and out it went and stayed out. Called em and they wanted a hugh fee to come and fix it. Got angry and told em to come and get it. They changed their mind and came and fixed it. End of prob and been good ever since. More and better channels too. Thanks and hope you don’t mind my opinion. Kenny .
