We all want to find good web hosting. I know many of us will go to places like bluehost, HostGator, DreamHost, or even GoDaddy. The first thing I must say is that they are all good.

I say good, because they are similar in many areas. A site with a small amount of traffic will not use neither the bandwidth, nor the storage, even at the bottom levels.

I do know, I am generally skeptical about advertising, so I go to their sites, read their claims, then try to determine which one is best. None of the popular hosting sites will say anything negative, advertising doesn’t work that way.

First I must mention that I do not recommend any sites that show up with the advertising on this site. I don’t recommend them, because I haven’t seen the one I am presently hosted on. I can’t recommend something I haven’t either tried, or at least talked more than briefly to someone that has used the hosting.

To all beginners the ads look good with lots of storage and bandwidth. The less expensive hosting is “shared” which simply means you aren’t the only site that uses bandwidth on a certain circuit or whatever. I say whatever because I don’t know what to call it. I do know it isn’t like dedicated and only have one site on a circuit, hence it is shared.

Shared is very good for all but the very busiest sites. There will be slight delays with shared, but it shouldn’t be a problem for most sites.

I won’t continue too much explaining hosting because I don’t have a lot of knowledge in this area. I just wanted to explain that shared is not like dedicated. I think most people know this and like me many people don’t know exactly how they work or what they do. I guess shared just indicates that more than one site shares bandwidth in some way.

Through a post on this blog, I happened to meet just what I have been looking for when dealing with hosting. They aren’t the least expensive.

The most important thing to any beginning blogger or webmaster will end up being tech support. This is my opinion only and I do stress “beginning” because a professional won’t need tech support, but almost anyone not experienced will from time to time or more.

The site I recommend checking is Jack Web Design.

I justify this as I have e-mailed the owner and actually gotten a response. His prices are competitive and he did the one thing for me that I have yet to find with any other host I have used for the past several years, he actually helped me out, and I am not even one of his customers!

When I say, “Helped me out”, I am not saying helped me with a hosting problem. I am saying that his knowledge of WordPress is just short of absolutely astounding. Better than that is the fact that he would even do this when no other host I have found will.

It is good to remember that fact. No other host had tech support that was even remotely willing to help out with a software problem. This is very important.

I do plan to switch hosts very soon. I admit there is a small price difference. I feel the very few dollars per month are more than worth it when you have what I consider the absolute best tech support on the internet. I say best, but I am sure there are others that are comparable, but I can honestly say I haven’t yet found one.

If you feel your host is the best, I welcome your comments so you can help them out. You won’t convince me that they are any better than Jack Web Design, but I like to hear about other hosts and not from customer feedback. If someone said to me, “Write a favorable comment on my hosting and I will give you a month or two or more free,” what would you do? Naturally you would write a favorable commentary.

I won’t do that. I put honesty first unless I am in great need of some essential. There isn’t nearly enough honesty in the world.

If I don’t thoroughly believe in something, you won’t see it on my site. You will see where I ask questions if I can’t honestly endorse things, or I lack information on the topic.

I can’t promise but my belief is that if you contact the owner of Jack Web Hosting, he will be more than willing to talk with you and I am willing to bet, you will find just what I did and that is that he is way more willing to help his customers than any of the larger hosts.

Do yourself a favor and at least give him a chance.

Since posting the above article, I recommend contacting me for more information about the hosting.

It works very well, but I had some minor problems. Support was the best I ever received, but there are other things I believe you should know before signing up.

I have had my account closed down by Jack Webb Hosting for no apparent reason. I did move my files to a different host, but paid for hosting that I still pay for but can’t access anything, nor have I received a refund as promised. The fact is Jack Webb Hosting won’t even give me the courtesy of contacting me.

I put an article showing the exact contact before I moved my files.
