I have been considering purchasing a Galaxy DX959 or a Cobra 148 GTL AM/Single Sideband CB Radio. I found all sorts of information online, even the YouTube videos that describe how they work and even some of the simple things that the owner can tune.
The thing I haven’t been able to find is where one can be bought. I do know many truckers and some people RV’s use them. I have seen them at truck stops and similar places, but I don’t know the stores, shops, whatever in Maine that carry them so that someone might jut call and check on availability and pricing.
It’s simple enough to order online. I found it quite amazing that on this particular item, a good comprehensive list of dealers throughout America, isn’t really available.
I actually went to the Galaxy site and they didn’t have a list of distributors or dealers. I didn’t even bother to check the Cobra site, because I do know most Radio Shack Stores do carry those even though the one I went to didn’t have an SSB model.
If anyone knows of any reputable electronics dealers in Maine that carry them, I would really like to have some information.

Just to let visitors know, I purchased a Galaxy DX929. I don’t feel that I got a super deal, but I do enjoy the radio very much.
Most of the research I have done indicates that they are as good or better than Cobra, which was always my radio of choice and are comparable in price.
If anyone has one I would like to know how they like or what they do like, dislike, etc about the Galaxy.
It doesn’t matter much because I bought one so it’s what I use.
So far, I will say I do like mine. Haven’t had it long and have had no problems.
