After a couple days of trying to connect a Gateway LX6200 to a Sony Bravia with the s-video connection, I have just about given up. The ATI Radeon 3200, from what I find isn’t a fantastic piece of equipment, but suitable for older games and most applications, except for the newer games that require a much larger faster computer than many of us care about.

I would like to know if anyone has connected this computer multiple monitors, or at least a second monitor, and if so, what problems they had.

I know the TV has the proper resolution because I have an old Gateway 510 that won’t even run more than a couple minutes then shuts down. I believe it is the heat sensor, but I probably won’t fix it. It is running XP and when it tries boots, it shows the screen on the remote monitor without my doing anything.

This is with the TV set to the same input, using s-video so I know it isn’t the TV.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. The bulk of the information I can find is all about the speed for “gaming”. I just need to know if there is any small glitch or anything that causes the LX6200, not to pick up the second monitor.
