I enjoy plinking and occasional hunting.
There is much in the news about registering guns or firearms on income taxes. I am not sure if it is only on the federal returns, or on state returns also as I heard today that Pingree wants to have it on tax forms. I didn’t hear which one, but would assume it is the Maine State Income Tax forms.
I made many gun posts on this site which do seem to get some traffic. I am not putting this here to upset anyone or anything of the kind. I do think that anyone that does enjoy guns for any sort of recreational purposes should try to watch the news because there does seem to be some danger that the right to bear arms is in some sort of danger, or at least some heavy revising.
Conservative views on owning guns – The Second Amendment gives the individual the right to keep and bear arms. Gun control laws do not thwart criminals. You have a right to defend yourself against criminals. More guns mean less crime.
Liberal views on owning guns – The Second Amendment gives no individual the right to own a gun, but allows the state to keep a militia (National Guard). Guns kill people. Guns kill children.
I posted the conservative and liberal views here so people can form their own opinions.
The only comment I really have is that it has been proven that there is less crime in areas that don’t have gun control. I don’t see how more gun control will decrease crime with proof in many surveys already available proving the opposite.
